Terms & Conditions
Terms and Conditions
1. Appointments and Booking
All appointments must be booked in advance. By booking an appointment, you agree to these terms and conditions.
2. Payment
Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure your appointment. Appointments are not confirmed until payment has been received.
3. Cancellations and Rescheduling
If you need to cancel or rearrange your appointment, a minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required. With sufficient notice, your appointment can be rescheduled to a mutually convenient time.
Cancellations or changes made with less than 24 hours’ notice will result in the full appointment fee being retained.
4. Missed Appointments
If you are not available at the agreed appointment time, or access to your pet is not possible, this will be treated as a missed appointment and the full fee will be charged.
5. Fees and Pricing
Fees are as stated at the time of booking and may be subject to change. Any additional charges, such as extended travel outside the standard service area, will be communicated in advance.
6. Travel and Service Area
This is a mobile service. A standard travel area applies, and additional charges may be incurred for locations outside this area. Clients must ensure safe and reasonable access to the property and a suitable, quiet space for treatment.
7. Veterinary Care and Referral
Acupuncture is provided as a complementary therapy and does not replace primary veterinary care. Your pet must be registered with a veterinary practice. Where appropriate, consent from your primary veterinary surgeon may be required, and you agree to relevant communication between your vet and the practitioner.
8. Medical History and Disclosure
Clients must provide accurate and complete information about their pet’s medical history, current medications, and any recent treatments. This is essential to ensure safe and appropriate care.
9. Consent to Treatment
By booking an appointment, you consent to the examination and treatment of your pet using acupuncture and related techniques.
10. Treatment Outcomes
While acupuncture can be highly beneficial, results vary between individuals. No guarantees can be made regarding outcomes.
11. Emergencies
This service does not provide emergency care. If your pet requires urgent attention, you should contact your regular veterinary practice or the nearest emergency veterinary provider.
12. Safety and Behaviour
Clients are responsible for ensuring their pet can be handled safely. If a pet poses a risk to the practitioner, treatment may be stopped and the full fee will still apply.
13. Home Environment
Clients are responsible for providing a calm and safe environment for treatment. Children should be supervised, and distractions kept to a minimum during the appointment.
14. Data Protection and Privacy
Client and patient information is collected and stored for the purpose of providing veterinary care. Your information will be kept confidential and will not be shared without your consent, except where necessary for your pet’s ongoing care (for example, with your registered veterinary practice).
15. Liability
All reasonable care is taken during treatment. However, by booking, clients acknowledge that all treatments carry a small degree of risk. The practitioner will not be held liable for any unforeseen reactions where appropriate care and professional standards have been followed.
16. Veterinary Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a veterinary treatment and, under current UK legislation, can only be carried out by a qualified veterinary surgeon or under their direction.
All acupuncture treatments provided through this service are performed by a fully qualified veterinary surgeon. This ensures that your pet receives care that is not only safe and appropriate, but also grounded in a full understanding of their medical history, diagnosis, and overall health.
As a veterinary-led service, treatments are always tailored to the individual patient and can be integrated alongside conventional veterinary care to provide the best possible outcome.
17. Changes to Terms
These terms and conditions may be updated from time to time. The most current version will always apply to bookings.
